nat’s french toast

Ingredients:
(serves one)
– 2 slices gluten-free bread
– 1-2 tbsp butter or oil
– 1 egg
– 1/4 cup vanilla almond milk
– 1/2 tsp orange zest
– dash of ground cinnamon and ginger
– touch of salt (optional)

Method:
Pre-heat skillet with butter/oil over medium-low heat. Whisk together egg, milk, orange zest, spices, and touch of salt.  Dip bread into mixture, making sure both sides are covered and soaked.  Grill toast for 3 minutes on each side or until brown.
* Top with maple syrup/honey, fresh fruit, and a dollop of yogurt.  Best if accompanied with apple smoked or maple bacon.*
